Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous system, and the effects these disorders have on your general health.

I am experienced in treating a wide range of conditions to reduce pain fast. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuro-musculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.

Doctors of Chiropractic, often referred to as chiropractors, practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic and treatment skills, and are also trained to prescribe therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as nutritional, dietary and lifestyle advice.

I TREAT ALL JOINTS IN THE BODY

The most common therapeutic procedure performed by chiropractors is known as “spinal manipulation,” or “chiropractic adjustment.” The purpose of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become “hypomobile” or restricted in their movement as a result of a tissue injury. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting technique, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting with an awkward posture for extended periods of time.

In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function for the sufferer. Manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joints and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness and allowing tissues to heal.

Chiropractic adjustment rarely causes discomfort. However, patients may sometimes experience mild soreness or aching following treatment (as with some forms of exercise) that usually resolves within 12 to 48 hours.

GRASTON THERAPY

A form of manual therapy known as soft-tissue instrument-assisted mobilization; which uses instruments with a specialized form of massage/scraping the skin gently.

DRY NEEDLING

Similar to acupuncture; dry needling involves the use of needles for therapy of muscle pain, including pain related to myofascial pain syndrome.

FASCIAL RELEASE

An alternative medicine therapy that claims to treat skeletal muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles, improving blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles.

TRIGGER POINT THERAPY

A technique that involves the application of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body.

KINESIO TAPING

Kinesio tape can be applied in various ways to reduce swelling, manage pain & improve muscle & joint function. Acting as a support system without blocking any movement, it allows users to recover from injuries with their full range of motion.
